Located in the remote barangay of Igcabugao, Mt. Igmatindog is one of the lesser-known hiking spots in Iloilo. The trail is short but scenic, with an estimated one-hour ascent from the jump-off point. This mountain lies along the ridge of Mt. Taripis and is visible from the summit of Mt. Napulak. Its rugged rock formation bears a strong resemblance to Napulakโs iconic peak, making it a worthwhile climb for both beginners and seasoned hikers.

How to Get to Mt. Igmatindog (From Iloilo City)
- From Mohon Terminal, take a jeepney bound for Igbaras (โฑ60 fare).
- If youโre traveling early and no direct jeepneys are available, ride one headed for Guimbal, Miagao, Tubungan, or San Joaquin.
- Ask the driver to drop you at 7-Eleven Guimbal, then take a tricycle to Igbaras town proper (โฑ30 fare).
- Upon arrival in Igbaras, visit the Municipal Tourism Office to pay the โฑ25 environmental fee.
๐ Getting to Brgy. Igcabugao (Jump-Off Point)
โ From Igbaras town, hire a motorcycle to Brgy. Pasi Hydro (โฑ50 fare). Then, trek for around 1 hour to reach Brgy. Igcabugao.
โ If you prefer a direct ride to the barangay, motorcycle fare ranges from โฑ150 to โฑ200.
โ A local โฑ10 barangay fee is also collected. Guides are available and recommended for first-time visitors.
Tips Before You Hike Mt. Igmatindog
โ Pack light if doing a day hike.
โ Wear reliable hiking gear: trail shoes, long sleeves, hat/headwear, and a utility knife.
โ Follow the Leave No Trace policy to protect the trail and environment.
