Guide to Agcararao Mountain View: A Refreshing Getaway in Passi City, Iloilo

If you are seeking a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse yourself in the beauty and tranquility of nature, Agcararao Mountain View is the ideal destination for you. Located in Sitio Agcacarao, Brgy. Jaguimitan, Passi, Iloilo, this captivating locale offers stunning mountain vistas, a vibrant meadow adorned with colorful flowers, and a cozy atmosphere that guarantees relaxation and rejuvenation.

During my recent visit to Agcararao Mountain View, I embarked on a solo journey, immersing myself in the wonders of the place and marveling at its breathtaking scenery. I set out on a thrilling motorcycle ride from Iloilo City to Passi, which lasted approximately two hours. Despite the bumpy journey, traversing rice fields, sugar cane plantations, forests, and hills made for a fun-filled adventure.

Upon reaching Agcararao Mountain View, I received a warm welcome from the friendly staff. I learned that Agcararao Mountain View was previously a flower and vegetable farm but was eventually opened to the public as a tourist destination. Situated about 240 meters above sea level, it stands as one of the highest points in Passi City.

After paying the 50-peso entrance fee, I eagerly embarked on my exploration of the place. The captivating flower field immediately caught my attention, boasting a myriad of blossoms such as sunflowers, marigolds, zinnias, and cosmos. The flowers were in full bloom, radiating vibrancy and beauty. I couldn’t resist capturing numerous photographs amidst the flowers, cherishing moments by the wooden hut nestled within the field.

Continuing my adventure, I proceeded to the viewing deck, where an awe-inspiring panorama of mountains and sky unfolded before me. The scene exuded serenity and majesty, transporting me to a different realm. Clouds gently floated above the mountains, while the sun shone brilliantly. The sight of birds soaring in the distance and cows grazing on the grass further enriched the experience. I lingered there, soaking in the view, and relishing the cool breeze.

What to Do in Agcararao Mountain View?

There are several activities you can enjoy at Agcararao Mountain View, including:

Mountain Biking: Bring your mountain bike and embark on a challenging yet enjoyable trek to the top.
Sunset/Sunrise Watching: Spend the night in a cottage or a tent and witness the enchanting sunset and sunrise from your chosen spot.
Bonfire: Gather around a bonfire with friends or family and enjoy a cozy evening.
Photography: Capture the scenic views by taking photos in the flower field and on the viewing deck.
Deep Pool: Take the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing dip in the deep pool. This natural attraction offers a cool and invigorating swimming experience. Nestled amidst the picturesque surroundings, the deep pool provides a serene and peaceful ambiance, allowing you to relax and unwind. To enjoy this amenity, you need to book the entire cottage, which costs around Php5,000 per night.

However, it’s important to adhere to certain guidelines during your visit:

Avoid picking flowers from the flower field, as they are integral to the natural beauty of the place.
Respect the environment by properly disposing of your garbage and refraining from littering.

The highlight of my stay was witnessing the sunset at Agcararao Mountain View. It was undoubtedly one of the most captivating sunsets I have ever encountered. The sky transformed into a mesmerizing palette of orange, pink, purple, and blue, creating a breathtaking contrast against the mountains. As the sun slowly descended behind the horizon, a trail of luminosity lingered in its wake. This enchanting moment left an indelible mark on my memory.

How to get there in Agcararao Mountain View:

To reach the mountain view, you can opt for public transportation. Start by taking a Ceres Bus from Buhang Jaro Terminal to Passi City. From Passi City, you can then rent a tricycle, which typically costs around 80 pesos per person. It’s important to note that there will be a short hike from the jump-off site to the resort since the road leading to the resort is rough.
