The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Civil Aviation Authority (CAAP) are mobilizing PHP 190 million in critical upgrades – a strategic investment in regional connectivity that promises significant economic ripple effects across Panay Island.
Terminal Transformation (PHP 132.9M)
The passenger experience takes center stage with comprehensive renovations:
- Structural Revamp: Roof repairs, tile replacement, ceiling upgrades, wall cladding, and waterproofing
- Modern Systems: New air-conditioning units, fire alarms, ducting, LED lighting, and plumbing improvements
- Enhanced Flow: Installation of escalators/elevators, repaired boarding bridges, departure conveyors, and updated furniture
Cooling Capacity Boost (PHP 37.55M)
Ensuring year-round comfort with:
- Three new 600 KW chillers for reliable temperature control
- Supporting mechanical, electrical, and structural modifications

Capacity & Economic Impact
The upgrades will dramatically reshape operations:
- Current Peak: 367 domestic + 360 international passengers
- Post-Upgrade Target: 675 domestic (+84%) + 407 international (+13%) passengers
