Vice Gov. Lee Ann Debuque leads literacy push as Big Bad Wolf book sale winds down in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY (September 2, 2025) — Vice Governor Lee Ann Debuque led a literacy partnership with the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale in Iloilo, channeling donated books to provincial libraries and community learning hubs as the sale prepared to close on Sunday, September 8. The initiative included donations to the province’s “Book Mo, Share Mo” drive.

Organizers opened the sale at Robinsons Pavia on August 29, with the event running daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and featuring thousands of heavily discounted titles. The touring sale — which Big Bad Wolf describes as a large-scale, free-admission event — has attracted shoppers across Iloilo province this week.

Vice Governor Debuque and her team have promoted the event as an opportunity to increase book access for students and underserved readers, encouraging shoppers to donate or purchase titles that will be redistributed through provincial programs and barangay learning centers. Social posts from the vice governor’s page and from Big Bad Wolf Philippines thank the office for its participation and note donations coordinated during the sale.

Aside from the literacy partnership, the sale is offering standard tour promotions and on-site activities. Local announcements and social-media listings show tiered discounts for larger purchases and special offers for students, teachers, and bulk institutional buyers. Event features reported by organizers include family-friendly contests and raffle mechanics intended to engage shoppers throughout the final week.
