This couple in Maasin, Iloilo came up with an idea to use the locally grown bamboo as a container for their milk tea shop.
How it started?
Jade and Melanie used to work in Thailand as science teachers but due to the current Pandemic, they were not able to return for work. They initiated to put up their dream milk tea business in a small amount of capital with the concept of using locally grown products-bamboo.

Why bamboo cup?
Since Maasin is known for bamboo products, the couple decided to utilize the local resources for their milk tea business with the help of Jade’s father who is the one who makes the bamboo cup. As science teachers, the couple wanted to show their students how to take good care of our mother nature aside from teaching them.

Future Plan for the business
As of the date, Darling’s Milktea continues to open branches outside the Municipality of Maasin. They are also opened for franchises for those who are also inspired to use bamboo as a container for their milk tea products.
Name of establishment: Darling’s Milktea
Location: Poblacion Maasin, Iloilo in front of Maasin Police Station
