MIAA Urges NAIA Passengers to Use Free Shuttle Amid Reports of Taxi Overcharging

With four sprawling terminals at NAIA, passengers connecting between flights often face a logistical challenge. Transfers can drain time, energy, and budgets—especially for those unfamiliar with the airport’s layout. “Planning your terminal transfer is key to stress-free travel,” the MIAA emphasized, noting that delays or confusion could risk missing flights.

Terminal Transfer Options

1. NAIA Free Shuttle: Located to the far right after exiting airport doors. Ideal for budget-conscious travelers.

2. UBE Express: A paid option at ₱50 per person, offering scheduled trips between terminals.

3. Taxis/Ride-Hailing Apps: Fastest but pricier (₱300–₱1,000+). MIAA warns travelers to avoid unregulated taxis.

Exception: Philippine Airlines (PAL) passengers can use the airline’s dedicated shuttle for seamless transfers.

Tips for Smooth Transfers

  • Always confirm your flight’s terminal (domestic vs. international).

  • Allocate at least 90 minutes for transfers to account for traffic or queues.

  • Use the free shuttle to avoid scams. “The shuttle is reliable and saves you money,” said one frequent flyer.

MIAA’s Stance
The advisory follows a spike in passenger complaints about taxi drivers exploiting confusion between terminals. “We encourage everyone to use official services,” an MIAA representative stated, adding that authorities are cracking down on overcharging.
