Iloilo Weather Alert – Persistent Rain and Flood Risk Due to LPA “Crising”

As of July 16, 2025, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reports that a Low-Pressure Area (LPA), named “Crising,” is located approximately 640 km east of Catanduanes. This system continues to enhance the southwest monsoon, bringing persistent rainfall and thunderstorms to Iloilo and other parts of Western Visayas.

“Crising” has maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h and is moving west-southwest at 20 km/h. PAGASA issued Weather Advisory No. 3, warning of flash floods and landslides in flood-prone and mountainous areas, especially in Iloilo’s river systems like Jalaur, Barotac, and Guimbal.

🌧️ Iloilo Weather Forecast (July 16–18)

  • July 16: Cloudy with scattered thunderstorms. Heavy rain in the afternoon and evening.
  • July 17: Periods of rain and lightning. Possible flash flooding in low-lying areas.
